Ganpro Improves Weight Gain in Calves
New test results show calves receiving a milk replacer supplemented with Ganpro direct fed microbials were 14 pounds heavier than the control group

CLEVELAND, OH (October 2, 2011) –In a recent eight-week trial conducted in the Midwest, calves fed milk replacer supplemented with the Direct-Fed Microbial (DFM) Ganpro significantly outperformed calves fed a traditional milk replacer with an antibiotic. Calves supplemented with Ganpro at the rate of 2 billion colony forming units (CFUs) per day were 14-lbs. heavier than the control group. Calves which were fed Ganpro consumed significantly more starter feed and converted calves to weight gain 17% more efficiently than the control group.

Ganpro DFM improves feed efficiency in calves to produce a heavier, bigger animal through natural means. Results indicated that unlike other lactic acid producing bacteria, Bacillus coagulans bacteria produces predominately (~90%) of the L+ isomer, which does not contribute to the D- lactic acid pool, which can lead to D- lactic acidosis.
